My challenge today was to make LEAF PAPER BALLS. The inspiration was this gorgeous paper version  I found on Pinterest. I wasn’t sure if I could do it with leaves but, I was going to give it my best shot!
I set to work using similar technique to the paper version but it’s probably best to follow the techniques below because there were different steps due to the nature component.
The most important part of the leaf paper ball craft is to use very good quality glue. You’ll need it otherwise the leaves won’t stick together.
Here’s how to make them yourself.
What you’ll need
- Leaves of varying textures and patterns
- Good quality circle hole punch (affiliate)
- A good quality craft glue (affiliate)
- Two pegs
- String
How to make leaf paper balls
-
- Using the circle punch, cut out some leaf circles. I cut out eight.
- Fold the leaf circles in half ensuring the the prettiest side of the leaf is folded inwards.Â
- Take two folded circles and glue them together back to back. Be mindful not to put too much glue on, you don’t want the glue to ooze out the sides when you hold them together with your finger tips.
- Glue another folded circle onto it so there are now three folded circles glued together. Repeat this until all the circles (except the outer two) are glued together back to back.
- Secure them with two pegs.Â
- Place more glue on the spine of the folded circles and stick on your piece of string. Let it dry.
- Now that it’s dry, you can glue the last two backs together to finish the ball. Secure them with a peg until it dries.Â
- Hang them up and enjoy their beauty. These paper balls made using nature, would make beautiful ornaments for Christmas, a nature wedding or just a pretty decoration to gaze at!
