We do a lot of park day trips in our family. The house is a nice place to rest but we’d much rather be out of doors exploring the surrounds. Problem is, with three children it takes a bit of preparation, especially when it’s just the kids and I. It’s hard not to pack everything but the kitchen sink. Still, I’m always looking for the next best thing that will make our trips out easier.
The Yuu Bag
I was lucky enough to review the YUUbag this week and I must admit I was quite excited about it. I’m a Virgo, so seeing all those little zippers and pockets totally resonated with that side of me that loves to have everything in its place. I wanted to try and fill every single pouch. I gave it a good shot too!
We finally received a sunny day and I couldn’t wait to take the girls for a picnic at the park. This was to be the YUU test. Â I had a lot I wanted to fit in.
This is what I fit into it:
- four sandwiches
- three apples
- container of homemade biscuits
- water bottle
- sunscreen
- pencils
- two visual diaries
- two wooden cars and a wooden helicopter
- a camera
- and the picnic rug that it’s sitting on!
Best of all it wasn’t nearly as heavy as I thought it would be with so much in it. You can really see that it’s been made for young growing spines (and even older, fully grown ones). Â It has ergonomic back panels that makes it fit your back perfectly. It felt really comfortable so I know it will be good for when Miss J starts school next year.
I want more from Yuu
All the kids’ designs are really cute, my only suggestion to YUU would be to make one designed for parents too. The designs are perfect for kids but I’d love one specifically for those day trips we do so much. My husband, although quite a confident person, still wouldn’t wear a pink pony bag while we were on a trip to the zoo. Â Let’s face it, one of us usually gets lumped with the bag when we’re out and about with the kids, so having one with a design the resonates with both parents would be a bonus.
After emptying the bag it was time for some fun. The girls used everything in the bag. They played with the cars on the park pathways, did some sketching of nature and took photos. They loved the picnic lunch too.
I forgot to mention that when you buy the bag, you get some goodies too. I totally forgot to take these with us on our park trip but I won’t forget it next time. It’s filled with a snakes and ladders board, pencils, a YUU club card, a clip and a sketch pad!
Disclosure:Â I was given a bag review in exchange for this post. My opinions are my own.Â
What a neat little bag! This is the kind of thing that I would keep stocked and by the front door – one of my ‘go bags’ that help me be ready to go whenever I want to fly out the door. It would be particularly handy as an activity bag when we want to go out to dinner or childless friends and take the kids some things to play with. x
I know, right?! So cute and perfect for day trips! I never thought of using it for babysitting but it would be perfect for this. I may use it tomorrow for that very thing!
