Don’t throw away those puzzles with missing pieces just yet. Recycle them instead! Use the remaining pieces in a craft activity by making them into different types of animals. It’s so easy to set up, yet it really challenges your child (and yourself) to think creatively.
Try all different types of puzzle pieces and see what amazing animals your children will create!
What you’ll need:
- Recyclable puzzle pieces
- Craft items you already own. We used paint, felt pens, googly eyes and our nature’s glitter
Animal Puzzle Craft
Collect all those puzzle pieces you were going to throw out and set them out on a table will all the other materials above. This allows your children the ability to see everything that’s available to them and give them the opportunity to think more creatively.
Allow your children to stick the puzzle pieces on to some paper and see what animals they can create. We made a turtle, bird and elephant.
Then, we crafted butterflies from the puzzle pieces. We used paint and some materials from nature.
This time we decorated the butterfly puzzle pieces before we stuck them on to a canvas. The puzzle pieces really pop off the page!
It’s so nice not to feel bad about throwing out another puzzle! We love simple crafts like this. Try this simple animal puzzle craft with only a few materials from around the house.
