Your kids will ADORE this Nature Head Printable

When I saw a nature head made from magazine cut-outs of nature, I thought, I’d rather decorate a face using real nature.

Her version was pretty, certainly, but I imagined how much prettier it would be using real flowers, leaves, and fern fronds.

And, I knew kids would love creating their own nature head too.

That’s how this craft became the most popular printable on Mother Natured, followed closely by the nature color wheel printable.

It’s free too, so there’s no excuse not to enjoy some time outside with your little ones.

Your mission – or your child’s mission – is to decorate the head with nature. Think flowers, leaves, grass, rocks, and seeds.

All you need is nature to bring it to life!

What you’ll need to create the nature head:

• Glue sticks
• Download and print the nature head printouts
• Nature. We used ferns, flowers, grass and leaves but you can add dirt, sand, small sticks, and gumnuts too!

Collecting nature for your nature head collage

Enjoy collecting natural materials together with your child and chat to them about the materials you find.

Ask questions like:
What’s something else in nature that looks similar to that?
What shape does that look like?
What does that feel like?

It won’t be long before your child freely explores themselves and encourages you to notice what in nature grabs their attention.

It’s heartwarming to watch them appreciate nature just as we do.

Set the materials out on the table

Encourage your child to help you set out all the materials on the table. Place the printables on the table too and then watch the magic happen.

I assumed that most children would only use nature to make the hair on the printable. I didn’t consider they’d create earrings, eyebrows, beards, and nose piercings.  How creative is that!

I have seen this printable shared hundreds of times on Instagram or Facebook (thank you for tagging me) and what never gets old is the thrill of seeing another creation.
