Christmas Candy Cane Gift Tags

We are getting into the spirit of Christmas, which means I’ve been preparing another gift for you all again this year.  I know it seems a little early for a Christmas craft, but believe it or not, it’s only five weeks until Santa gets here!

Candy Cane Decorations

Last year I made these Wildlife Christmas gift Tags for you all, but this year’s gifts are these candy cane holders. Candy canes are always a good choice when decorating the house or the Christmas tree. They are festive and they’re yummy! These holders are just another way to display candy canes a little differently, and of course I want to bring a little bit of wildlife fun into your Christmas decorations too.

Candy cane holder as a gift idea

We printed these out and made them for the girls’ kindy carers, but they would make great presents for fellow classmates, teachers and even family and friends.

2. Then, paste the paper onto some recycled cardboard. We used a cardboard cereal packet.

3. Cut them out. It does take someone with a little more experience with scissors to cut these out though, so this might be a job for the parents.

4. Once they are all cut out, flip them around a candy cane and glue the ends together. You may have to hold it with your fingers for a couple of minutes.

I’ll be sprinkling a few more Christmas posts around WF4K as we draw closer to the day. If you aren’t feeling quite in the mood yet, I know something that might help with that. Watch these Wildlife Christmas songs with your child and you’re sure to start feeling that Christmas spirit!

I hope you like your Christmas Candy Cane holders and that they help to decorate your house or become lovely little gifts for your family and friends. Christmas is the perfect time to give and I hope these bring a smile to the faces of whoever receives them.

Thanks Jackie! They looks really good on wine glasses but since this is a site for children, I decided it wouldn;t be a good idea to highlight it here. :p

Oh, so adorable! These are making me homesick for AU. Especially the adorable Kookaburra which was a fave of ours while there. I am going to make some of these and surprise the boys. Thanks for sharing the printables. Fantastic as always!!!

Oh Steph, I’m sure the boys will love them. I’m not sure how long they will last on our tree. The twinkles love them.

Gorgeous! I’ve made similar with the candy cane as a mouses tail as I have a cute little story but may have to try these this year. Thanks for sharing

Thanks so much Kate. It’s something just that little different. I was going to add them to wine glasses for the photo and though, No, this is a kid site! They do look nice on wine glasses though.
